- Win+Shift+S copies the selected region immediately.
- A native Windows notification shows a screenshot thumbnail; click it to open the annotation editor.
- COM activation opens the editor even after the capture process exits, while KSwitcher is running.
- The on-demand screenshot process keeps the editor and image work out of the resident app.
- Original screenshots are DPAPI-encrypted; previews use a private per-user cache accessible to Windows. Notifications expire after 24 hours and caches are bounded.
Clipboard history fix
Resizing the history window now expands the list and search field. Action buttons follow the bottom edge instead of leaving unused space below them.
Documentation
Updated Ukrainian wiki guides cover screenshot capture, annotation tools, keyboard shortcuts, clipboard search, pinning, OCR and updates, with screenshots.
Install / update
Extract the complete ZIP and keep all three EXEs and dictionaries together. Existing users can use the built-in updater. v0.4.1 and older first update to the compatible v0.4.2 bridge, then check again for this release. Close screenshot editors before replacing application files.
Validation: 173 native regression checks, 384 input/UI regression checks, screenshot editor UI integration checks, 45 updater checks, and every packaged file verified against the SHA-256 manifest. Thumbnail display and notification activation were confirmed on Windows 11.

2026-10-28 22:53:22 +02:00 | 36 commits to main since this releaseScreenshot capture and editing now run on demand in KSwitcher.Screenshot.exe. The resident KSwitcher process no longer includes the editor. Multiple numbered editor windows share one screenshot process, which exits after its last window closes.
Editor improvements include independent Alt+Tab windows, copying without closing, a clearer centered close confirmation, and stable window indices.
Update packages now include a versioned file manifest with file sizes and SHA-256 hashes. New application files can be added without changing an executable allowlist; path validation, protection of user data, dictionary preservation and rollback remain enforced.
Updating from v0.4.1: use the tray Update command to install v0.4.2 first, then use Update again for v0.5.0. The stable
release-vtag deliberately keeps legacy clients on the compatible bridge until their updater is ready. Fresh installs can extract this full ZIP directly. Keep all three EXEs together; close screenshot editors before installing updates.Validated: 173 native checks, 379 input checks, screenshot UI/process lifecycle checks, 45 updater checks, and the real v0.4.1 -> v0.4.2 -> v0.5.0 package transition including data preservation and rollback.

2026-10-28 22:53:20 +02:00 | 36 commits to main since this releaseThis compatibility release upgrades the updater while keeping the two-executable package accepted by v0.3.x–v0.4.1.
- Select Update in the KSwitcher tray menu to install v0.4.2.
- After it restarts, select Update again to install the full current release (v0.5.0).
No manual extraction is needed for this transition. Settings, history and existing dictionaries are preserved. The screenshot editor remains embedded in this temporary bridge build.
The new updater recognizes stable
release-vX.Y.Zreleases and validates their file manifests, checksums and safe installation paths. This is the final legacyvX.Y.Zrelease so older clients cannot skip the compatibility step.Downloads

v0.4.1 — 2026-10-28
- Fix Settings spacing around Screen capture, automatic layout correction and layout controls.
- Verify update checksums through .NET SHA-256 without requiring the PowerShell Get-FileHash command. This fixes updates from processes launched with a conflicting PowerShell module environment.
- Capture a rectangular screen region with Win+Shift+S (configurable), with dimmed selection and independent editor windows.
- Annotate screenshots with numbered markers, arrows, straight/freehand lines, highlights, rectangles, circles, ellipses and inline text.
- Edit color, line style, arrowheads, thickness, font and size. Link arrow endpoints to markers and attach captions.
- Captions follow line angle and keep their relative offset until manually rotated. Text rotation supports Shift snapping in 15-degree steps.
- Move objects one pixel with arrow keys; clone with Ctrl+D; undo/redo edits. Numbered markers reuse gaps.
- Compact Lucide toolbar, contextual status bar, pencil cursor and confirmation before discarding an uncopied screenshot. Escape no longer closes the editor.
- Preserve the separate on-demand configurator and configurable capture shortcut.
Verified: 173 native checks, 379 input/rendering checks, screenshot editor UI integration checks,
29 updater checks, including missing Get-FileHash coverage, and package validation.Upgrade from v0.3.0 or v0.4.0: use Update in the tray menu. Both executables are supported.
If an older updater reports missingGet-FileHash, restart KSwitcher normally from Explorer
(outside a PowerShell 7 session) or install this ZIP manually once. v0.4.1 removes that dependency.
Upgrade from v0.2.3 or earlier: install manually once because those updaters reject the additional configurator EXE.
Exit KSwitcher and extract the entire ZIP into its installation folder. Keep personaldata/and customized dictionaries.Download KSwitcher-win-x64.zip with SHA256SUMS.txt. The package contains both executables,
offline dictionaries, documentation and license notices; no personal settings or clipboard history.Build and package:
.\build.ps1 -Stage -Test .\package.ps1 -PublishReleaseCommit the archive, checksum and sources together. Publish both assets on a stable release whose
tag matches the executable version.Downloads

Install this release manually once. The older updater rejects the additional executable. Exit KSwitcher, extract the complete ZIP into the installation folder, and retain
data/and any customized dictionaries. KeepKSwitcher.exe,KSwitcher.Config.exe, anddictionaries/together. Future updates support both executables through the tray Update menu.Changes
- Settings and the snippet editor now run on demand in
KSwitcher.Config.exe. - Repeated launches activate the existing configurator. Closing its last window exits the process and releases its memory.
- Settings apply immediately through the resident process, with validation and protection against conflicting saves.
- Shortcut recording uses the resident keyboard hook; the configurator adds no global input hooks and loads no clipboard history or dictionaries.
- Packaging and the updater validate, install and roll back both executables.
- About displays the actual application version.
In a local before/after measurement after opening and closing Settings, resident working set decreased from about 21.0 MiB to 14.7 MiB. Results vary; total memory is higher while the configurator is open.
Validation: 170 native checks, 51 input/layout checks, 28 updater/metadata checks, and 21 configurator process checks passed (270 total).

- Fix Settings sizing at high DPI and after display changes. Add resizing, scrollbars and automatic focus visibility when content exceeds the work area.
Verified: 168 native checks, 51 input/layout checks at 240 DPI, 24 updater fixture checks, live release download/checksum validation, and visible Settings at 250% scaling. Two-laptop Mouse Without Borders and physical monitor disconnection still need hardware verification.

2026-10-28 01:38:47 +02:00 | 43 commits to main since this releaseChanges
- Detect failed manual conversions and suspicious repeated hotkeys, saving recent attempt context only when an incident occurs.
- Include bounded text and layout diagnostics for reproduction, with a persistent Write log setting.
- View current and rotated logs in the app using Time, Attempt, Event, and Details columns.
- Refresh logs, copy selected rows, and clear the selected log. Fix focus-triggered closing and distinguish column headers visually.

Extract KSwitcher-win-x64.zip and keep dictionaries/ next to KSwitcher.exe. For upgrades, close KSwitcher and preserve your existing data/ directory. SHA256SUMS.txt contains the archive checksum.
Validation
- 168 native regression checks passed.
- 14 log viewer and isolated log-clearing checks passed.
- Verified executable version 0.2.0, ZIP contents, and SHA-256 checksum.
Text diagnostics are enabled by default and can be disabled with Write log. Repeated hotkeys are suspicions, not proof of failure; paste dispatch does not verify the editor applied the replacement.
